Hello Friends!

Cheers to a short school/work week!

I don’t know about you, but my kids come home famished after school. Through the years, we have learned what snacks they like to have around and how we can add variety to their week so that they don’t get bored. Both of my children have sensitive stomachs, so the ideas that I am going to share are ones that work with their tummy issues…

My children are 13 and 11 and arrive home around 4 pm each day. They are able to get their own snacks and are free to eat whatever they choose. They have always been fairly healthy eaters, as long as I keep their healthy options plentiful and easy to grab.

  1. Fresh Fruit: We keep a 3-tiered stand on our kitchen counter stocked full of fresh fruit. Their favorites are apples, bananas and clementines. I often will also have a bowl of fresh berries and grapes on the counter, washed and ready to be eaten.
  2. Trail Mix: I make this myself or in a pinch, buy it pre-made. We store it in an air-tight jar on our counter. Their favorite mixture includes almonds, peanuts, raisins and mini M&Ms.
  3. Granola: My kids are huge fans of a granola that I buy at our local Sam’s Club bakery. They eat it out of the jar, or with with a yogurt parfait. I have also made homemade granola.
  4. Homemade breads: Banana bread and Pumpkin bread are the favorites in our home.
  5. Cheese and Sausage.
  6. Protein Peanut Butter balls: I make a large batch of these and keep them in the fridge. They are great for packing up and sharing with a hockey or soccer team in between games.
  7. Homemade pancakes and waffles: I recently bought this waffle iron on Amazon and am obsessed! My daughter could eat pancakes and waffles for every meal, so sometimes she is just craving them after school. Because of her sensitive stomach, we let her eat what she can tolerate. This is our favoritebatter to use.
  8. Granola Bars: These are always good to have on hand for a quick snack.

Do you have some snacks that your kids love? Please share!

{This post is not sponsored, all opinions are my own.}

Have a great day!

xoxo, Amy
